Prohibited Items

When disposing of waste, it is important to be aware of the items that are not permitted. The following list outlines prohibited items that should not be included in your waste disposal. If any of these items are found, your trash will not be collected and your services may be stopped. If you have any questions, please give us a call.

Prohibited Items:

  • Wet Paint: Wet paint is not allowed due to its potential to leak and cause environmental harm.
  • Whole Tires: Tires must be disposed of separately as they can cause issues in landfills.
  • Liquids: No liquid waste is permitted, including household or industrial liquids.
  • Batteries: Batteries contain harmful chemicals and must be disposed of through appropriate recycling programs.
  • Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, Freezers: These items contain refrigerants that are hazardous to the environment.
  • Anything Containing Refrigerant: Any item containing refrigerant must be handled by specialized disposal services.
  • Gasoline, Oil, Diesel: These flammable substances pose a significant risk and must be disposed of at designated facilities.
  • PCB-Contaminated Fluorescents: Fluorescent lights containing PCBs should be recycled through appropriate hazardous waste programs.
  • Contaminated Soil: Soil contaminated with hazardous substances requires specialized treatment and disposal.
  • Asbestos: Asbestos is a hazardous material and must be handled by professionals.
  • Chemical Containers: Containers that held chemicals must be rinsed thoroughly before disposal.
  • Medical Waste (Needles): Medical waste poses health risks and must be disposed of through medical waste services.
  • Hazardous Material: Any material deemed hazardous cannot be included in regular waste disposal.
  • Telephone Poles or Crossties: These items are not permitted for disposal.
